Tarpon Harbour, a 137,092 sq. ft. residential duplex development comprised of 106 living units (212 boxes), was completed in 16 months.
These unique oceanfront homes on sea level property were each set on an 8’ tall concrete 16”x16” pier foundation to ensure compliance with 180 mph wind codes (including impact glass so that storm shutters are not necessary) that can withstand hurricane-force winds. Pier construction will not only keep tenants and buildings safe during inclement weather, but will also provide additional parking spaces.

Unpredictable Florida weather played a large part in the design of the complex, but also proved to be a challenge for the construction of the buildings in a timely and cost effective manner.
The modular buildings built by Champion, and the on site team that knew how to set them to code, were the key factors to overcome any challenge. Flooding concerns were eliminated because the duplexes were installed on piers. Crews worked hard and built, delivered and set 5 units per week pending weather restrictions, and were able to finish the project on time and on budget.
